The Papal Visit to the Philippines is happening in a few days and people are in a naturally festive mood. After all, it is not every day that the Pope visits your country! Most Filipinos are hoping to catch a glimpse of the well-loved Pope Francis.
While I would love to revisit Quirino Grandstand and hear mass with a Pope exactly 20 years after being a World Youth Day delegate, I am a bit wary about bringing my five-year-old to the festivities (got paranoid after the New Year’s stampede in China!).
This, however, does not stop us from learning more about the leader of our Church and following his journey and visit in the Philippines, even just through television.
To prepare our daughter for this momentous occasion, I made a simple book about Pope Francis’ life, collated from various sources on the Internet. You are welcome to download it here. Set your printer to 2-sheets per page when printing, fold in the middle and cut. Staple the pages together and you have a nice little book about Pope Francis.
Let us pray for the safety of the Pope, his delegation, and all those who will be participating in this event. May we be blessed and inspired by Pope Francis’ message of mercy and compassion.
