“Aya’s House” is an ode to Noche Buena – the Philippine late-night Christmas tradition of food, and merriment to usher in Christmas Day. Told in verse, the story is in the point of view of the author based on her memories of a childhood full of rich, love-filled Noche Buenas.
Through this book, children can learn more about Filipino Christmas (“Pasko”) traditions, and some of the popular food, decorations, and terms associated with Noche Buena and “Pasko.”
