Description
One of the five collections of stories that were written with the Sulu Sea and its environs as its subject. It was commissioned by the World Wild Life Fund in 1998 as part of its Sulu-Sulawesi Sea Project.
The Sulu-Sulawesi Marine Region is considered the global center of marine biodiversity that includes the Coral Triangle. It encompasses a million square square kilometers of land and sea area occupied by three nations—Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia. There are about 40 million people who depend on its biodiversity for their livelihood. These three countries have recently agreed to work together to ensure that this region is protected and preserved for future generations.
